Product Management Bootcamp

I have a certification in product management from The University of Texas McComb’s School of Business. This program was an intense 18-week program focused on gaining and refining skills required for product management. Below are a few of the many projects I complete as part of this comprehensive program.

Projects

  • Solve Customer Problems

In week two, we were challenged to develop a comprehensive plan to turn around a consumer ebook platform. This project required us to use our design thinking skills and frameworks to determine the strengths and weaknesses of the ebook business. We then applied what we learned about persona development and customer focus to devise a plan to turn the business around.

“Matthew - Your work on this challenge is exemplary. From your clearly articulated and supported hypothesis to your summary and next steps (and everything in between) all of your work was thoughtfully executed and you have demonstrated proficiency in all of the components. Excellent work!”

  • Rapid Prototyping (Group Project)

Our team identified a new opportunity to solve an unmet need among a segment of your customers: parents whose young-adult children are managing their own finances for the first time. From these insights, we created a target persona and a customer problem statement.

Our group “gamified” financial education through an app we call Credit Lingo. My responsibility, among others, was to create the prototype of our app. Below is a link to that prototype.

“Matt, excellent work! Loved your unique hook using the gamification approach and levels to unlock the ability to get a card.”

  • Google Analytics

For this challenge, we used our skills in setting up and analyzing reports in Google Analytics to uncover insights about a product and its users. This involved looking at data from a variety of sources and using it to tell a story about how to enhance and improve the product.

    “Matt, great work!”
